Artist Statement
As a ceramic artist, I want to bring a sense of the world as I see it to life so that others can share my feelings and impressions.
Although my pieces may seem to have a serious side to them, I try to approach each piece with an element of whimsy and a fervent desire to not take myself or my work too seriously. I work with a range of low fire clay, glazes and acrylics. I use a variety of techniques which include throwing, hand building, coiling Raku, soda firing, pit firing, gas and electrical firing, or a combination of all three.
I attended California State University in Fullerton, where I majored in ceramics under Jerry Rothman. I minored in Art History and graduated with a B.A. in Fine Arts.
