Colin Cunningham

Colin was born and raised in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The early 50s saw a renaissance in northwest native art. A few really talented artists were producing beautiful pieces based on the original two-dimensional / form line style of art unique to the Northwest.

Colin found this art to be a natural and fitting style for carving in wood. After taking a wood- carving class and, finding it challenging and creative, he combined it with his love for North West Indian art. The work you see today is the result of many creations. Colin has sold carvings on consignment, in galleries, and has even won blue ribbons at woodcarving shows.

Colin does his own interpretation of the North West style of Indian art. Except for bronze pieces (10 copies) all designs are Colin original and one of a kind. You can visit Colin’s website at colincunninghamart.com
