News for 2015
Deb Sterk and Terry Grastiet were participants in the Northwind Abstract Art Show.
Pam Walker was nominated for an award from the 2015 International Color Awards. There were 7,358 entries received from 79 countries and her work received a high percentage of votes overall. That put her in the top 10%. Certainly an achievement, well done!
Terianne Stratton had 2 pieces selected for a juried show at Northwind Arts Center for the month of March, on exhibit until March 30th- the show is entitled Book Inspired and was curated by David Sessions and Lynette Sandbloom. She also was juried in the Artist Showcase for 2015!!
Ryoko Toyama and Karen Rozbicki Stringer are both in the 2015 CVG show. Congrats !!!! Double Congrats to Karen Stringer, she won Second Place in Photography!!!!
The annual CVG Show in Bremerton’s Collective Visions Gallery is one of the largest and most prestigious art competitions in the Northwest. Over 270 artists from 70 Washington cities submitted nearly 800 artworks for consideration. Of these only 130 pieces were selected for inclusion in the show. Greg Robinson, Executive Director and Curator of Washington State’s newest art museum, the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art is the juror for this year’s competition. The 2015 CVG Show opens on January 24, and will run until February 28 in Bremerton.

Deb Sterk is one of the accepted Artist for the Northwinds Small Expressions 13 starting in December.
Lynne Armstrong and Karen rosbicki Stringer are both juried in the show at the Port Angeles Fine Art Center, called”Art Convergence”. Starting in November and running through December. For more information go to pafac.org. and check it out.

Karen Rozbicki Stringer’s website (www.karenstringerphotography.com) is reviewed in the current issue (November 2014) of Shutterbug magazine in Joe Farace’s “Web Profiles” column. Karen’s particularly thrilled that Mr. Farace highlights her “Sequim Dungeness Evocations” portfolio. His review also notes “exquisitely precise compositions that characterize her photographs to speak to the viewer in quietly elegant terms.”
Pam Walker got all 3 of her pieces in the show “Art and the Word” at Northwinds in Port Townsend ,running October 3-27.
“I was published in Studio Visit Art Journal, Voume 26, A Juried Selection of Internation Visual Artists. The juror wasTrevor Richardson, Director of the Herter Art Gallery at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Here are the two pieces that were published. They are both Photo-Encaustic Paintings.”
Blue Whole Gallery artist Karen Rozbicki Stringer’s photograph “Nothing Endures But Change” has been selected to be included in Art Port Townsend/”Expressions Northwest,” the Northwind Arts Center and Port Townsend Arts Commission’s 16th Annual Juried Art Exhibition. It will be held August 1-31, 2014. Juror Greg Robinson, Executive Director and Curator of Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, selected 77 pieces from 313 works of art submitted from artists residing in the Northwest.
Brian Buntain also has been juried into Art Port Townsend ” Expressions Northwest!

Mary Franchini is published in the Palette Magazine in an article about whimsey in art. She feels that she is in very good company in the article by Martha Wakefield.
