Gallery members Terry Grastiet and Ryoko Toyama were both accepted in the Fifth Annual CVG (Collective Visions Gallery) juried show held in Bremmerton, WA. On the opening day, Juror, Kathleen Moles, curator at the Museum of Northwest Art (MoNA) in La Conner, will give lecture at 5 pm at Bremerton City Council Chambers and Main Lobby (345 Sixth Street, one block from CVG gallery). Exhibit opens, Sat., Jan. 28; closes Feb. 25, 2012.
2011 News of the Gallery
Photographer Pam Walker has been chosen for the
Daily Dozen. On National Geographic’s website, they have a program called Your Shot, they take up to 5000 photos a month and the editor chooses 12 per day of her favorites. Then readers vote for their favorite. Then every month the editor chooses one of those daily dozen photos, and the members favorite for print in their Magazine. Her’s was chosen for the daily dozen, and may or may not be printed. They don’t tell you ahead of time if you are chosen or not.
Pam submitted photos off and on for a few years and this is the first one chosen.
The photo of the baby bear riding on mom is now going to be for sale through National Geographic’s stock ” Readers Collection”.
Mary Franchini has one of her images published in the June-July edition of The Palette Magazine. The article written by Christopher Schink and William Lawrence is titled “The Unexpected”

Our members Barbara Boerigter and Janine Hegy have been accepted into Strait Art 2011, “Slivers of SIlver” 25 Years of Art, running March 20 to May 15 at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 East Lauridsen Boulevard, Port Angeles WA 98362. Open Wednesday through Sunday, 11am-5pm
