Born and raised in Michigan, I currently reside in Sequim, WA. After my husband and I retired from our careers in Southern California fifteen years ago, we travelled to all 50 states, Canada and Mexico, mostly in our RV, and to Europe, China and Egypt. I have thousands of pictures to prove it! I also have hundreds of pictures of flowers from my garden. What to do with all these photos led to exploring new methods of post photography digital processing. The computer and the internet have given me the opportunity to try new methods and create my own style. The idea is not to use an artistic approach to cover up bad photography but to enhance it to a WOW factor.
Someone once said that “to make art is to fill [someone] with the urge or ability to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.”
Using a computer is another venue for “making art.” The screen is my canvas, the mouse is my brush. I could paint or take amazing photographs but I choose to combine these two forms of creativity on a computer for timely results. After studying a photo at length it tells me what it wants to become. I then start applying various techniques that I have learned over the years. It is this artistic approach to photography that I am sharing with you. Additional artwork can be seen at www.flikr.com/photos/mkevans. Original art or prints may be purchased from me or the Blue Whole Gallery, Sequim, WA.
