I am Lisa Allison Blohm, a Pacific Northwest native and a wildlife/nature artist/painter. Living here in the Pacific NW provides me daily, unlimited inspiration! I especially love to paint those species that need a voice, are at risk, undervalued or have a unique story to tell about their lives. Marine mammals and birds are my specialty, but I enjoy painting and including other local flora and fauna as well. I focus on portraying our local species, many of which are endangered or threatened, so that they will be introduced, seen, heard, considered and honored. I then strive to paint these species in a captivating and interesting manner so that they capture your attention, and perhaps your heart as their story reveals itself to you. When I sit down to draw out a concept for a painting it is because I have been touched in some way by a local species, as if they say “paint me next!” I strive to capture a bold personality in all of my subjects and my paintings are often narrative and have a story. I want my audience to know these stories, as well as to inspire action and passion for the current plight of many of our threatened Salish Sea species. My inspiration is to give them a voice and an audience to communicate that their well being is an important part of our well being and a bigger ecosystem we share.
