Decoupage Demo on May 11th from 1-3pm

Jane Smith, gourd and repurposed item artist, will be providing a free altered paper decoupage demonstration on May 11 from 1-3pm for everyone who has wondered what to do with those old National Geographic magazines.

Jane will demonstrate how she alters paper, dries, cuts it into pieces and then decoupages the results on to a gourd.  Everyone attending this free demonstration will be given the opportunity to practice decoupage using pre-made altered paper.  “No one attending should wear their good clothes,” states Smith.  “It’s decoupage and a new skill and supply list won’t be the only thing that goes home with participants!”

Jane’s principle art form is gourds.  She performs many different processes on her gourds.  She carves, paints, wood-burns but her favorite is a pine needle coiled gourd with beading using altered paper as the background.
