BirdFest/BirdQuest Has Landed at the Blue Whole Gallery!

It’s birding season in Sequim, and Blue Whole Gallery is soaring into the festivities as a proud participant in this year’s BirdFest/BirdQuest! Whether you’re a seasoned birdwatcher or just love a good scavenger hunt, this is the perfect time to explore Sequim’s creative side while celebrating our feathered friends.

What’s the Quest All About?
Beginning April 1st, stop by your favorite local merchants and destinations around the Dungeness Valley—like the Blue Whole Gallery—to search for delightful, student-crafted bird sculptures hidden in plain sight. These whimsical and artistic creations are part of the annual BirdFest/BirdQuest celebration, and each one brings a burst of creativity to our town.

How to Play:
Pick up a BirdFest/BirdQuest game card at any participating location (including the Sequim Visitor Information Center or right here at the gallery). Your mission: match a minimum of 15 sculptures with their locations on the card. Once you’ve completed your quest, turn in your game card before NOON on April 30th to be entered for a chance to win the Grand Prize Basket—filled with goodies for bird watchers, Sequim swag, and even a one-year membership to the Audubon Society!

Don’t Forget to Vote!
Each bird sculpture has a name—and your vote counts! Circle your favorite on your game card and help decide which talented young artists will take home a cash prize. The top three vote-getters will receive special recognition (and bragging rights, of course).

At the Blue Whole Gallery, we’re thrilled to support local creativity and environmental awareness through this fun, family-friendly event. While you’re here, don’t miss the chance to explore our current exhibits and enjoy the work of local artists inspired by nature, wildlife, and the beautiful Olympic Peninsula.

So come by, spot the bird, cast your vote, and support both art and avians this April!

Happy birding, Sequim!
