August Exhibition: Voices of the Land and Sea Theme with Jean Glaser and Julie Hembree

Jean Glaser and Julie Hembree are Blue Whole Gallery’s featured artists for the month of August. The show they are presenting is named “Voices of Land and Sea.” Both artists are presenting multimedia art using collage techniques, however their art and styles are totally different.

Jean has been an artist for decades. For the last 20 years her work has been primarily animal portraits. Since moving to the Pacific Northwest, she finds her art is transforming. Still focused on animals, she incorporates patterns and colors unrelated to the subject, using collage, texture, markers and pencils in her process. Jean describes her work as, “loud, brash, noisy pieces with humor and heart. Imperious crows, Brash donkeys, and Colorful Chickens. Art that makes you smile.”

Both artists will have their work displayed in the front windows of Blue Whole Gallery during August. They will both be present on Friday, August 1st during First Friday Artwalk, from 5pm to 8pm.
