Blue Whole Gallery proudly announces the addition of Melissa Doyel as a new gallery member. Melissa, an award winning artist, paints primarily in watercolor and acrylics, with some past work in pastels and oils. She enjoys painting a variety of subject matter, including portraiture. Her own reference material of special people, places and nature inspire her work. She has been incredibly fortunate to study under Sabina Turner for nine years and taken numerous classes from Jeannie Vodden plus workshops from other talented artists. She learns something new with every painting and likes to push herself to keep growing as an artist.
Melissa has drawn, painted or hand crafted most of her life and loves exploring new ways to create. She moved to Sequim, WA with her husband and 2 cats in 2018 from Fiddletown, a small town in the Sierra foothills in CA. Now in ‘creative retirement’, she loves exploring the beautiful Olympic Peninsula and finding new inspiration for her paintings.
Her work is currently on display in the gallery as well as on her Blue Whole Gallery artist page. You can see more of her work at www.melissadoyelart.com
