It is our pleasure to announce that Adam Krey is the Blue Whole Gallery February Student of the Month. Adam is a ceramic artist specializing in functional wheel-thrown pottery that invites touch, use, and exploration from every angle. Striving for a balance of simplicity and elegance, his work evolves through intentional and subtle refinements, with each piece marking a distinct point in his creative timeline.
Originally from Wisconsin, Adam has lived and worked seasonally in various places, but after arriving on the Olympic Peninsula six years ago, his wanderlust found a home. His artistic journey has been shaped by community education and college art courses, with Peninsula College providing an inspiring space to deepen his exploration of ceramics. Recently, his focus has turned to soda firings and slip surface decoration, pushing his work in new and exciting directions. Beyond ceramics, he also expresses his creativity through ink and watercolor illustrations, landscapes, and occasional digital design.
We invite you to view Adam’s work in the gallery during the month of February.
