As our January Student-of-the-Month, Auden impressed both visitors and artists alike with her masterful charcoal rendition of the classic nude. This masterfully executed drawing revealed Auden’s exceptional talent. To learn that as a youngster, Auden taught herself how to draw, elicited even more admiration.
As she embarks upon her college freshman year, Auden plans to pursue studies in art, creative writing and Spanish. As she adventures forth, the artists of the Blue Whole Gallery wish her the very best: may she meet with great success and the fulfillment of her deepest desires.
Kate Loveland Memorial Scholarship – Gavin Mayfield
Blue Whole Gallery is pleased to award Gavin Mayfield with the 2025 Kate Loveland Memorial Scholarship.
The Kate Loveland Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of a long-time member of the Blue Whole collective. Kate’s fine art photography highlighted the beauty of the natural world. Her unique montages invited viewers to perceive nature freshly… with an artist’s eye.
Gavin’s ability to capture the beauty of the natural world through photography is in perfect alignment with Kate Loveland’s legacy. We admire his artistic accomplishments so far, and are inspired by his dedication to developing his photography skills. The artists of the Blue Whole Gallery wish Gavin success as he journeys forth.
