FRIDAY, MAY 3 from 5-8pm – FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK RECEPTION
An Artist Cooperative Gallery
The Blue Whole Gallery has been in the heart of downtown Sequim, Washington for over 25 years and has been recognized as a regional fine art center.
The gallery displays art work from over 25 local artists with expertise in oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, digital artistry, ceramics, glass, wood, jewelry and more. Our artists are dedicated to our award-winning gallery where we exhibit and sell our artwork as well as engage with the vibrant arts community in our area.
We always have something new and exciting to discover. Our main gallery is re-hung every four weeks to coincide with Sequim’s monthly First Friday Art Walks. Works created by our members are as varied and invigorating as the natural splendor of the Olympic Peninsula. We are also a cooperative gallery and self-organized. Members supply artwork to the gallery as well as work in the gallery on a regular basis completing the duties needed for the day-to-day operations of the gallery as well as special functions and projects.
The name of the gallery comes from a term pilots use to describe the “blue hole” in the skies above Sequim, which contrasts with the normally cloudy Pacific Northwest. The hole in the clouds was changed to whole to convey the concept of wholeness in terms of the overall diversity of media and styles represented in our gallery.

Molly White is excited to be partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs. “As a retired teacher of young children, I love sharing the windows with The Boys & Girls Clubs,” states White. “Children are our future and I love and have always loved helping them grow into thoughtful, kind, problem solving adults. Art was always a big part of my instruction as well!” Molly still nurtures everything around her. Her animals, garden and grandson are now her benefactors. Her love of art and her subject matter comes through in the colorful whimsy and spirit seen in her paintings. She is a master in pastels, acrylics or oil.
Molly’s artwork is currently on display in the front window of the gallery as well as on her Blue Whole Galleryartist page.Boys and Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula
The artists at Blue Whole Gallery will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of selected works to the Boys & Girls Clubs throughout May. The Boys & Girls Clubs provide essential services to children 18 and under. While in a safe and nurturing environment, the Clubs offer various programs during the summer that focus on child development as well as academic enrichment keeping kids on track for the next school year.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula is a great partner and
mentor for our community’s children. Join the artists of Blue Whole Gallery in supporting their efforts
during the month of May.
Both Molly White and representatives from the Boys & Girls Club will be present at Blue Whole Gallery May 5th for First Friday Art Walk. The public is invited to stop by and meet the artists.
